How Do Your First 90 Credits Work Within a Four-Year Program?

Step One

Choose from One of Six Transfer Associate Degrees

You have time to decide and can work with your advisor to determine the best path. Many credits of our transfer associate degrees overlap, which is why most students first choose the more general Associate in Arts and Sciences.

Step Two

Complete Your First 90 Credits at BC

Earn your general education credits, first college credential, and graduate, all generally within two years.

Step Three

Transfer to a Four-Year Institution That Accepts the Degree

Transfer agreements are accepted at 23 four-year institutions in Washington state. If admitted, you will typically enter with junior standing.

Step Four

Finish Your Remaining Credits of Your Bachelor’s Degree

Put two degrees on your resume that you can use in your job search.

Earning a transfer associate degree does not guarantee admission. Students must still meet any admissions requirements at an institution and within specific bachelor’s programs.

What Could Be Possible After Your First 90 Credits at Bellevue College?

Save Money on a Four-Year Program

Save on the cost of your general education credits so you can pay for all four years of your education. Bellevue College ranks as tied for first among Washington state public institutions (four-year and two-year) for 10-year net present value (Georgetown CEW).

Strengthen Your Admissions Portfolio

Demonstrate to four-year universities that you can handle the academic rigor of college education. While your high school records will still be considered, your first 90 credits can help give admission offices a more relatable transcript to use in their decision-making process.

Decide on a Particular Major and/or Bachelor’s Program

There are many exciting and rewarding fields you can enter. Take 90 credits at Bellevue College to help lower the pressure associated with the cost effects of any changes to your areas of interest. BC offers first-year seminars, career exploration services, and a BC Pathways program that helps you explore your interests and select the right major for your goals.

Gain the Confidence You Need to Succeed in Upper Division Coursework

Gain the confidence and skills and tips that can help you succeed at any level of learning. General education credits typically explore topics at a broader level while upper-division courses focus on more technical aspects of an area of study.
